Internet Policy
Board approved June 06, 1999

  • JCLL provides Internet access for library members and staff as an information resource and communications tool for conducting legal research.
  • JCLL cannot guarantee that data on the Internet is accurate.
  • JCLL assumes responsibility for the content on the web pages resident on our website only (www.jcll.org).
  • JCLL is not responsible for changes in content of the sources to which we link, nor for the content of sources accessed through secondary links.

Policies

  • Circulation
    The Library is non - circulating. We recognize your occasional need to check out materials. Please ask and we will arrange for an overnight loan. Materials loaned should be returned to the librarian by 9:00 a.m. the following morning.
  • Copy deposit accounts
    Copy deposit accounts are available for your convenience to use when you make copies. We request that individuals deposit a minimum of $20.00, firms a minimum of $50.00.
  • Non - member attorneys
    Non - member attorneys may use the library for $10.00 a day.
  • Paging
    The Library is equipped with a paging system. If you sign in we will page you
    , when your office needs to reach you.
  • Reshelving
    Reshelve your books, please.
  • Smoking
    Smoking is not permitted in the building. You may smoke in the parking garage on the second floor or outside the building at the main entrance on the first floor.
  • Telephones
    Telephones are available for local calls and credit card calls. A private phone is located in the phone closet across from the front desk. Two phones are available in the Jorge A. Elliot Technology Center.
  • Westlaw, Lexis, and Kansas.gov 
    Access to Westlaw and KeyCite is available to current members at no additional charge.  Lexis
    and Kansas.gov
    fee services are available for patrons without subscriber accounts. The Library will bill the user for any incidental costs. The Library requires a statement of financial responsibility on firm letterhead to be on file before such usage can occur.
